Inspirational Excerpts

Image
Seems like I haven't blog for some times. This post is a repost of Marc's writing entitled 12 Things My Grandmother Told Me Before She Died.

When my grandmother, Zelda, passed away a few years ago at the age of 90, she left me with a box of miscellaneous items from her house that she knew I had grown to appreciate over the years.  Among these items is an old leather-bound journal that she aptly named her ‘Inspiration Journal.’

Throughout the second half of her life, she used this journal to jot down ideas, thoughts, quotes, song lyrics, and anything else that moved her.  She would read excerpts from her journal to me when I was growing up, and I would listen and ask questions.  I honestly credit a part of who I am now to the wisdom she bestowed on me when I was young.

Today I want to share some of these inspiring excerpts with you.  I’ve done my best to sort, copyedit, and reorganize the content into twelve inspiring bullet points.  Enjoy.

About Me

Image
How come it's about me? I just realized after blogging for so long, I haven't really describe much about myself. So, here goes:

I am in my twenties this year. I don't wish to be pretty nor thinner BUT I wish to be taller ~ not super model tall but 11cm more will do. 11cm more so that I can 5 feet. Even if it's not 11cm, at least a few more cm will do.

For tall people, I don't think they will understand how a few cm will be a difference I guess. Being at my height, there's a lot of things I can't do or being more accurate is I can't reach high places. That the simplest task people would make fun of. At least a few cm taller will allow me to reach a further/higher place in the cabinet, etc.

Behind this smiling face is a mask of someone insecure.

Insecure that people would not acknowledge me for what I do. How people will not take myself seriously and that they will always treat me like a beginner, a small kid. The insecurity of how my friends, family …

BB Cream Reviews

Image
I've said before to share my thoughts on the products that I've used but have yet to update any for quite long.

I'm going to blog about BB cream. A lot of people heard of BB cream but never know what does this acronym stands for. "BB" stands more "Blemish Balm".

Actually, there's 2 saying about BB cream.
Positive
Some said that it is better than using foundation as it contains a lot of USP (unique selling points) - it serves as your moisturizer, sunblock, primer, foundation, some with anti-aging, etc. All-in-one and it saves not only the hassle, time used to put on the base for make-up but also money $$. Besides that, it's one layer against layers of sunblock, foundation, concealer, etc. It's a lot lighter and more natural.

It is also natural in colour so you don't have to worry in choosing the tone that suits you. However, some brands do have different tones/SKUs to choose from. BB cream is more refined compare to foundation and as suc…

Fried Chicken Rice

Image
What I do best is blogging about food around PJ and KL.

Bored with the usual chicken rice? Try out fried chicken rice instead. Went to Jalan Segambut for its fried chicken rice and it is super awesome. OMG! Super yummy. I don't know the direction there but it's just a normal stall by the road.

Picture courtesy from other blogger.  This picture was taken way back in 2007 and it's still standing strong. Price increase was a lot though.
The fried chicken is quite big. Almost double the size of KFC to say. Worth the $ though it's a bit pricey.

My rice after giving more than 1/2 to the boss :)
Only the chicken thigh and drumstick is available. No other parts are available. The chili sauce is yummy too.

Total damage for 4 is RM36 (RM9 per person). This includes drinks and 1 bowl of "suen choy" (literally translated to sour vege) for sharing.

Rating: 5.5/7

If you want something nearer in PJ, you can find one at Seapark. It's called Hoe Fong Restaurant. I didn…
